| | Welcome Dovie'andi se tovya sagain! - It is time to toss the dice!
Welcome to the Official Website for Aman'Thul's Shen An Calhar!Shen an Calhar (SaC) is an established, Family-Orientated Guild located on the World of Warcraft Oceanic server, Aman'Thul. We are based in Australia / New Zealand, but welcome members from all around the world playing on Aman'Thul. We've been together since the server opened in June of 2006, and have been witness to the rise (and fall) of many of The Heroes of the Age! We are committed to making the gameplay experience for our Guild Members in WoW fun, and we support each other in our quest to find honour and glory in Azeroth. The guild name, Shen an Calhar, comes from Robert Jordan's series of books, The Wheel of Time, and is Old Tongue for Band of the Red Hand, a legendary, elite fighting force which has been reforged in the latest age to fight against the powers of the Shadow. While many of our members are WoT fans, it is not a prerequisite to joining with us in Azeroth. In fact, we are always open to accepting new members of any class and level, as long as they live by the single most important rule in our guild... by showing Respect to your guildmates and other players in the game, you will uphold the reputation of our guild on the server. To view a detailed Guild Roster, click the SaC RPG Outfitter Roster link in our Links section to the left of the browser. News
IMPORTANT NOTICE.
After a lifetime of church Birg has finaly seen the light and stepped down as guild leader and installed a far superior person in his place ...you guesed it it's
"OhLOrdGloom"
Not a lot will change apart from the overall quality of leadership, firm quick decision making, decisive management decisions and a friendly caring person to have ignore your grievences.
It would be apreaciated if the prefix "Ohlord" is used in all general chat. Also upon logging in please show the apropriate respect and recite the "revised" guild prayer. (http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=203529&TabID=1718102&ForumID=959256&TopicID=5592005&GuildThreadMsgID=28342707)
I appreciate you co-operation and promise not to increase taxes much beyond the realm inflationary lvl.
B will return as GM sometime in the future when it is felt he's fit to rule again. ( to be determined by a panel comprised of Gloomoor, Ohlordgloom, Darthgloom and Gloomalot at the earliest oportunity when all 4 are on at once )
This weeks hot topic
VENT The guild vent server has been changed to a new hosting company and upgraded to 15 slots to acomidate anyone who wants to participate in a raid without using the entire allowance. The new server data is located in guild info in game. The current configuration of the server allows for 10 guest loggins with access to general, raid and party 1 channels. To access the member channel a proper member account needs to be located on the vent server itself which I am currently orginising now. Guild members will recieve mail with there individual login accounts, if you haven't recieved one or have a would prefure a different loggon name for vent please let me know and I'll be able to change or create it pretty much straight away. The guest loggin details are also located in the guild info tab. The server is there to be used so dont be shy in setting up party or raid members on the guest account. Oh Birg does have full admin rights on the server but I would advise only asking him when he is actually online rather than sending him mail due to his limited acces to a pc atm.
It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing away of the Wheel of Time author, James Oliver Rigney, Jr. (aka. Robert Jordan) on September 16, 2007 in South Carolina, USA. Our condolences from Shen an Calhar go out to his family and loved ones. Please see http://www.dragonmount.com for more information.

First, tonight's push includes a new selection under the "In Beta" area of the Control Panel, which allows you to provide your own custom HTML for the body of all pages on your site. Next, we've addressed some bugs that have been reported concerning the editor (sorry folks, looks like we were wrong about it being a cookies issue). Info sections have also had a bug fixed.

The new chat room is finally fully operational and we believe most of the quirky behavior some are seeing in the new editor control are related to old cookies. Try clearing those out (especially in FireFox -- grrr) and if you still have trouble, let us know via support ticket, please.

Lord of the Rings Online guilds will notice a few new features that went along with the editor push tonight. Namely, guild rosters now load directly from Turbine's servers, and the editor (when posting) has a "One Ring" icon that, when clicked, helps you add links to LOTRO-related goodies. The roster will load from Turbine's servers only if there is an exact match for your guild name and the server you selected when you started the guild. If either are incorrect, they can be modified in the Control Panel under Guild Name and Server. LOTRO Integration can be disabled/re-enabled in the Control Panel as well, under LOTRO Integration.

We will be deploying the latest version of the WYSIWYG editor later today. It will resolve issues with IE 8, and has a few neat things that we can do with it, moving forward. We are testing it in the latest versions of all browsers, and also ensuring compatibility with a version back, where feasible. For some browsers with rapid release schedules (like Firefox), please ensure you have auto-updates configured.

Enhancements going live this morning: around 40 new custom forum emoticons available for you to set in your Control Panel (under Custom Images : Emoticons). Also, clicking on an event from the monthly calendar view will take you directly to the event you selected, instead of displaying all events on that day. Of course, some probably liked seeing all of the events for the day, so what we've done to compensate was put a list of all events for that day to the right, above the two small selection calendars you see when viewing an event. It's got an animated opening -- you can't miss it. =)

Updates: Topics with more than 20 pages of replies were disallowing further replies. Fixed. A problem with the GPHelper.lua add-on for WoW has been fixed, be sure to get latest. Clicking the Edit button under an Alliances content type now loads the correct editor. In some cases, the Edit button under Image Gallery types wouldn't show up. Fixed.
